Making/composing music has been a major subtheme of my life having started to learn the piano at age five. Music is where I submerge into the non-visual realm that perhaps is most aligned with my Inner emotional self.
Over the last five decades I have sat at my piano or synthesizer and composed/improvised hundreds of hours of music ranging from simple lyrical melodies to jazzy themes to electronic lush harmonies to harsh atonal/angry rants.
In the 1970s I jammed weekly with a few friends usually focusing on jazz themes but also with my close friends Christian Mari and Richard Carter experimenting mixing free form musical interactions with spontaneous word poems and found sounds (rocks, bottles, etc.) many with strong social themes.
These jams no doubt influenced the later development of my VideoTonePoems™ that include moving imagery, poetry, and music.
